What is data:image/png;base64,?
data:image/png;base64, is the beginning of a PNG image Data URL. The text after the comma contains the image bytes encoded as Base64. Paste the entire string, including that prefix and all the Base64 data, to view the PNG and save it as an image file.
The same process works for data:image/jpeg;base64,, data:image/webp;base64,, data:image/gif;base64, and data:image/svg+xml;base64,. Percent-encoded SVG Data URIs are also supported.
Is a Data URL the same as a Data URI?
Both names commonly refer to this inline image format. This Data URL to Image tool decodes the image in your browser and preserves its bytes, transparency and animation without resizing or recompression.
Why won’t my Data URI display?
Copy the complete value, rather than a shortened example with an ellipsis. Include the image MIME type and comma. If the value is inside an HTML image tag or CSS background, copy only the Data URI itself. An incomplete, damaged or unsupported image cannot be previewed.
